The School Board PTO Liaison program was established by a board vote as a communication initiative between the school board and individual schools to promote two-way communication.
About the School Board Liaison Program
For all 15 schools to have a committee of 2-4 volunteers to serve on a liaison committee (i.e. PTO president, vice-president, PTO board liaisons, other school volunteers)
Attendance by at least one liaison from each school at all school board meetings
Ongoing dialogue between the liaison, PTO president, and school principal
Open lines of communication and information sharing between the school board and the liaison members
Two receptions are held each year for the School Board Liaisons - August and January
A school board representative will be present at all Coordinating Council meetings
Quarterly board updates will be sent from the school board to all liaisons and PTO leadership via email
A more detailed tri-fold pamphlet explaining school board meeting structure will be available at all meetings
