Support Staff of the Year

Each school year, Carmel Clay School Corporation recognizes one support staff member who has excelled in commitment and contribution to the betterment of his or her school or department, students or educational community.

All current Carmel Clay School Corporation support staff which includes all classified staff who have been employed by the corporation for a minimum of three (3) years are eligible for nomination. Those recognized as Support Staff of the Year may not be considered in consecutive years.

Nominees will be considered based upon the following key criteria that relate to an overall positive educational climate at Carmel Clay School Corporation:

Must demonstrate excellence in the performance of his or her duties.
Must advance and strengthen the image of the support staff.
Must have the ability and willingness to work cooperatively with fellow professionals.
Must exhibit commitment, loyalty and dedication to the Carmel Clay School Corporation.
Must make positive contributions to their work area or team of workers.
Must exhibit strong organizational work skills.

Nominations may be made by students, parents, other staff members , the School Board or the public to the Carmel Clay School Corporation starting in March. A selection committee of supervisors, support staff and the previous Support Staff of the Year recipient will evaluate each nominee and select a winner in May.

The Carmel Clay Schools Support Staff of the Year is announced at a surprise ceremony at the staff member's school in May.
