Welcome from Dr. Thomas Oestreich, Superintendent

It is a privilege to serve as Superintendent of Carmel Clay Schools. As someone who has been part of this district for many years, I’ve seen firsthand the dedication of our educators, the enthusiasm of our students, and the strong partnership we share with families and the broader community. 

Carmel Clay Schools has long been recognized for its academic excellence and opportunities for all students to realize their potential. I’m proud to continue that tradition while also ensuring we remain focused on what matters most—preparing all students for success in learning and in life.

In my first year as superintendent, I am placing a renewed emphasis on the vision of our school corporation: Together We Achieve.

That means working together across all roles and relationships—educators, staff, families, students, and community members—so that every learner has the support they need to thrive.

We’ll keep moving forward, building on our strengths with a clear focus on continuous improvement—never settling, and always striving to be better for our students.
