About the School Board

The Carmel Clay School Board has sole control over local school matters, and it operates within the "Open Door Law" at all times. Carmel residents elect all board members to a term of four years. Regular School Board Meetings are held on the fourth Monday of the month and Workshop Board Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month, with the exception of May, July and December. All meetings are at 7:00 pm and are held in the Public Meeting Room at the Educational Services Center at 5201 E. Main Street, Carmel, IN 46032. The public is invited to attend the meetings.

1. Set goals and establish policy
2. Recruit, hire, and evaluate the superintendent

Policies and Bylaws

Written policies and bylaws, all approved by the board, serve as guidelines for operation of the schools. Policies are available for review on the BoardDocs website.
