Carmel Clay Schools is moving forward with Request For Proposals (RFP) from qualified organizations to provide student behavioral & mental health services.  The School Safety Referendum, which was passed in November 2019, now allows the district to seek proposals to expand its mental health services to students.

The partnership with an outside provider(s) aims to eliminate barriers to mental health services, support the district’s families and wrap resources around students in need of assistance.

During the 2019 Indiana Legislative Session, lawmakers passed Senate Bill 127, allowing schools the opportunity to seek a property tax referendum to fund school safety initiatives for School Resource Officers, mental health programming for students, and school safety professional development and training for staff. Carmel Clay Schools was the first school district in the state to pursue a referendum of this kind. 

The proposals will be received until February 5, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. The district expects to award the contract(s) for services at the March 27, 2020 Board meeting.
