Carmel Show Choirs Hitting All the Right Notes
Show Choir 2026

Spring in Indiana means one thing for many performing arts fans: show choir season. At Carmel High School, that season once again highlights a program known across the region for its consistency, talent, and competitive success.

Each year, hundreds of students dedicate countless hours to rehearsals, choreography, vocals, and technical production to bring high-energy performances to stages across the Midwest. Carmel High School’s show choir program features four competitive groups and more than 200 students who spend the winter months traveling and competing while representing Carmel Clay Schools.

The program’s four ensembles compete in multiple divisions throughout the season:

Ambassadors – Varsity Mixed Division, 5 competitions plus Carmel’s home show
Accents – Varsity Treble Division, 5 competitions plus Carmel’s home show
New Edition – JV Mixed Division, 2 competitions plus Carmel’s home show
Allegro – JV Treble Division, 1 competition plus Carmel’s home show

Show Choir Trophy

Behind the performers is a strong technical and volunteer team. A 14-member student tech crew, led by Andrew Okerson, manages staging and technical elements at competitions. Parent volunteers also play an essential role, assisting with costumes, transporting equipment, and helping keep students fed and supported during long competition days.

With three of five competitions completed, Carmel’s show choirs have already earned multiple top finishes and individual recognitions.
