Carmel High School has been named to the College Board’s AP School Honor Roll with Gold distinction, recognizing schools that are expanding access to Advanced Placement coursework while supporting strong student performance.

This is the third year of the AP School Honor Roll program. After earning Silver recognition in each of the first two years, Carmel High School’s Gold distinction reflects continued growth and intentional work to develop an AP program that builds a strong college-going culture and gives students meaningful opportunities to earn college credit and maximize their college outcomes.

For a public high school the size of Carmel High School, this level of achievement is truly exceptional. Carmel High School is one of only 85 total high schools across Indiana, public and private, to earn AP School Honor Roll recognition at any level.

To earn Gold distinction, a school must meet benchmarks across all three categories: College Culture, College Credit, and College Optimization. Carmel High School earned Gold in all three categories and achieved Platinum-level performance in two:

College Credit (Platinum): 67 percent of the Class of 2026 earned college credit by receiving a score of 3 or higher on at least one AP exam.

College Optimization (Platinum): 28 percent of the Class of 2026 completed five or more AP courses over their high school years.

College Culture (Gold): 71 percent of the Class of 2026 enrolled in at least 1 AP course before graduating.
