Carmel High School Alum Henry Joliet Named 2025 U.S. Presidential Scholar

CARMEL, Ind. – Carmel High School is proud to announce that Henry Joliet, Class of 2025, has been named a 2025 U.S. Presidential Scholar, one of the nation’s highest honors for academic achievement, leadership, and service.

Joliet is among only 161 students nationwide recognized this year through the prestigious program, which honors the country’s most distinguished graduating seniors. The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, established in 1964, recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional academic success, artistic excellence, technical achievement, leadership, and community service.

“This is an incredible accomplishment and a tremendous honor for Henry, his family, and our school community,” said Dr. Tim Phares, principal of Carmel High School. “The Presidential Scholars Program represents the pinnacle of academic recognition, and Henry’s achievement reflects both his personal dedication and the outstanding opportunities available to Carmel students. We couldn’t be prouder.”

Joliet, now a freshman at the University of Michigan, is pursuing a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a minor in History. He is a member of MECC Consulting Group, a student organization that partners with local and national companies on consulting projects, giving students hands-on business experience. In his free time, he enjoys playing intramural sports, including Ultimate Frisbee, Beach Volleyball, and Flag Football, as well as attending Michigan’s sporting events and performances.

Carmel High School has an impressive record of success in the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. The school has celebrated a Scholar every year since 2021, including two national Scholars in 2023—an achievement shared by only a handful of schools nationwide.
