Traffic Patterns

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Walkers and bikers should only cross at intersections and marked crosswalks (marked in yellow on the map). A crossing guard is stationed at the neighborhood sidewalk as students cross over the access trail leading back to Edu-Care and Transportation Building. Students should wear reflective clothing or add flashing lights to backpacks and bikes for increased visibility. 

Drivers should be extra cautious in and around school zones.

Carpool

Morning Arrivals

Students who arrive early and are dropped off at Door 5 between 7:45 am – 8:05 am, will be instructed to go downstairs to the main gym where they will be supervised until they are released to come upstairs at 8:10 am when the bell rings for students to enter the building and head to their lockers and first period block.

  • Please have students exit the car when instructed. Parents should not get out of the car. Please do not pass or go around cars.  
  • Parents should only drop off students inside the green zone (see map). PLEASE DO NOT DROP OFF STUDENTS OUTSIDE OF THIS GREEN ZONE AREA.
  • Students arriving after 8:25 am to Door 4 or Door 5, are tardy and will need to report to the main office to get a pass before going to first-period block. 

Afternoon Dismissals

Parents may arrive for dismissal at 3:00 pm in the East Parking Lot (Doors 4 and 5) following the carpool line guidelines. Please do not pass or go around cars unless instructed to do so.

  • Parents should only pick up students inside the green zone (see map). PLEASE DO NOT PICK UP STUDENTS OUTSIDE OF THIS GREEN ZONE AREA.

Morning Arrivals

Students should only use crosswalks. Traffic supervisors are regularly stationed on 126th Street from 7:50 am to 8:20 am. Please stay on the sidewalks and only use the designated crosswalk that has adult supervision crossing over 126th Street. Students may enter Door 1 prior to 8:10 am (main foyer area). At 8:10 am, students can use both Door 1 and Door 2 to enter the building.

Afternoon Dismissals

Students will be released out Door 1 and Door 2. A crossing guard is stationed at dismissal on 126th Street. Please stay on the sidewalks and only use the designated crosswalk that has adult supervision crossing over 126th Street.

During arrival and dismissal, all traffic should enter and exit on to 126th Street. Vehicles can only enter and exit campus heading Eastbound on carpool side. Please utilize roundabouts and legal U-turns to head Westbound.
