Nurse
School nursing, a specialized practice of nursing, protects and promotes student health, facilitates optimal development, and advances academic success. School nurses, grounded in ethical and evidence-based practice, are the leaders who bridge health care and education, provide care coordination, advocate for quality student-centered care, and collaborate to design systems that allow individuals and communities to develop their full potential.
My name is Julie Dickson, and I am the school nurse at Clay Middle School. I am a 2014 graduate of Anderson University and have spent most of my nursing career in the psychiatric field. I have a huge passion for mental health and am excited to provide holistic care for all of our students.
I grew up in Carmel, IN, and even attended Clay many years ago. I am thrilled to pour back into the community that helped me become the nurse I am today. I have a dog named Zanmi (Haitian Creole for “friend”) and enjoy visiting new coffee shops, being outside, and traveling for global ministry.
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns. Our nursing office hours are M-F 8:00 am to 3:45 pm.
