Carmel Clay Schools Elementary Principals Recognized for Exceptional IREAD Scores
Carmel Clay Schools proudly announces the commendable performance of four elementary principals and their schools in the Indiana Reading Evaluation And Determination (IREAD) assessment. College Wood, Prairie Trace, Smoky Row, and Woodbrook Elementary Schools have achieved outstanding results, with more than 95% of students demonstrating proficiency in reading for the 2022-2023 school year.
These remarkable accomplishments underscore the dedication and commitment to academic excellence exhibited by the educators and staff within Carmel Clay Schools. Notably, all eleven elementary schools within the district have surpassed the state average IREAD score of 81.9%, with the district averaging an impressive 93.4%.
While standardized test scores are an important measure of student progress, we recognize that they are just one aspect of assessing a student's abilities. Assessment scores do provide vital data that inform our strategies for improvement and help identify areas where additional support is needed. Carmel Clay Schools is dedicated to identifying and closing achievement gaps so that all students are appropriately challenged and meet their potential.
The district remains committed to transparency and accountability in education. Detailed assessment scores for each of our schools are available on our schools' Academic pages or can be viewed directly at Indiana GPS.
Carmel Clay Schools extends heartfelt congratulations to all students, educators, and particularly to the four elementary principals for their exceptional leadership and dedication to academic excellence.
