"We are immensely proud of Claire for this extraordinary achievement," said Dr. Tim Phares, Principal of Carmel High School. "Her dedication, intellect, and leadership serve as an inspiration to our entire school community. Claire embodies the values of academic excellence and service that define being a Greyhound."

Next year, Claire plans to attend Columbia University and study Economics Philosophy.

The U.S. Presidential Scholar Program was established in 1964 by Executive Order of the President to recognize and honor some of the nation's most distinguished graduating high school seniors. Each year, up to 161 students are named U.S. Presidential Scholars based on their academic success, leadership, and contributions to their schools and communities.
