Carmel Clay Schools Hires New Director of Mental Health
Carmel Clay Schools is pleased to announce Brooke Lawson as the new Director of Mental Health.
As the Director of Mental Health for Carmel Clay Schools, Mrs. Lawson will be responsible for leading our team of school counselors and social workers and overseeing our contracted services with Ascension St. Vincent to provide onsite mental health services. She will work closely with school administrators, teachers, and parents to identify needs and develop programming to help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Mrs. Lawson has extensive experience, having worked in a variety of school-based mental health leadership roles where she led the implementation of multiple layers of comprehensive mental health services for students districtwide. She was named the Administrator of the Year in 2022 by the Indiana Counseling Association, received an Outstanding Public Service Award from the Jefferson Foundation in 2021, was named the Hero of the Month by Prevail, and was recently awarded the 2023 Indianapolis Colts Classroom Quarterback of the Year.
“I look forward to learning and working alongside the supportive leaders who make Carmel Clay Schools a world-class district,” said Brooke Lawson. “I am eager to continue to advance the important mental health work that has already begun in CCS, ensuring the mental health needs of students and staff are met.”
"We are thrilled to welcome Brooke to our team," said Superintendent Dr. Beresford. "We believe that mental health is a critical component of student success, and we are confident that Brooke will bring the expertise and leadership necessary to continue to build our mental health services and support the needs of our students and staff."
