Carmel, IN – Christi Cloud, Director of Technology and Data Solutions, has been named the 2020 Carmel Clay Schools Administrator of the Year.
Mrs. Cloud received the surprise announcement at her home, complete with a decorative yard sign and a celebratory car parade which included her colleagues and technology team. Superintendent Dr. Michael Beresford arrived at her doorstep to present her with the recognition.
Under her leadership, Mrs. Cloud and her team have been instrumental in supporting staff, students and CCS families with essential technology needs this school year and throughout the Coronavirus Pandemic. When CCS schools closed in March, her team was responsible for coordinating the distribution of thousands of devices, providing timely technology support to all CCS employees and parents, assisting with new software integrations, and also ensuring student and staff data continued to be protected. Her leadership during this time was vital to the success of virtual learning for all K-12 students and staff.
Mrs. Cloud’s incredible work ethic, impressive forward thinking skills, and positive attitude has also allowed her to accomplish big projects including a major website redesign and the transition of a new student and parent portal.
Mrs. Cloud began her career at Carmel Clay Schools in 1998 as an elementary teacher at Prairie Trace Elementary. Throughout her time at CCS, she has also served as a Spanish teacher, Curriculum Specialist, and Technology Integration Specialist. In 2010, she was hired as the Director of Technology and Data Solutions. Mrs. Cloud earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish from Ball State University and received her Master’s Degree in Education and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Indiana University.
Mrs. Cloud received many wonderful nominations that made her stand out as this year’s 2020 Administrator of the Year:
“Christi works so hard behind the scenes to make all of our systems not only work, but so that they actually make our work better! And she does so with maximum enthusiasm! Now, more than ever, I would say that Christi is overwhelmingly deserving of this honor. She led her team with military precision, managing demands and needs coming at her like water out of a firehose. Christi and her team deployed thousands of devices, provided hours and hours of tech support, worked to make sure student and staff data was secure, developed tech tips for all of us to become better learners, and so much more. I am fortunate to get to work with Christi on a regular basis, and many people don't get to witness first hand her amazing work ethic, her awesome problem-solving mind in work, but even more importantly, her service-driven approach to everything - both professionally and personally. She puts the "service" in the Educational Service Center.”
“Christi has done such a good job with team building among all the employees in technology department. When they are in the building, they demonstrate the utmost professionalism and they are dedicated to providing the best service and support possible. This training and work ethic starts with her leadership. Throughout our virtual learning experience, Christi and her team put in countless hours to make sure that every staff member and student had the tools they needed to be successful in their educational journey. Christi is always just a phone call away and no matter what the situation, always addresses the issue calmly and resolves the situation quickly.
