Carmel Debate just tied its best finish in school history at the Indiana High School Forensic Association State Tournament this past weekend by placing 2nd for the first time since 1986.

The team had a best-in-state 13 out of 18 entries break to the elimination rounds while 8 entries were comprised of debaters either in their first year of Carmel Debate or first year competing at the State Tournament. An astounding 33 of the team's 34 students will be returning next year with Michael Walker as the lone senior this season.
