The Health Occupation Student Association (HOSA) Club at Carmel High School is composed of 100+ students. HOSA provides students interested in Health Sciences an opportunity to learn about the diverse career paths and collaborate with other students with similar interests.
The HOSA chapter also competes at the State Conference in April each year. Throughout the school year, students learn about the different events, both individual and team-based, which they can compete in at the state conference. Some of these events are solely knowledge-based but many incorporate creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. Students who place in the Top 3 at the State Conference are eligible to compete at the International Conference. Over 10,500 students from the United States, as well as a handful of other countries, competed at the International Conference last month.
Carmel High School had 18 students qualify to compete at the HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America) International Conference held June 2022 in Nashville, Tennessee. There were more than 10,500 students at the competition and of our 18 students, nine of them placed in the Top 10 and we had a CHAMPION!
