The Indiana Department of Education has released the Spring 2023 ILEARN test results, and Carmel Clay Schools is pleased to announce its exceptional performance. While these assessment results are not the sole determinant of a student's success, they serve as a valuable indicator of our district's commitment to high standards and providing an exceptional education for all learners.

The ILEARN assessment provides insight and accountability into the critical subjects of English Language Arts and Mathematics. Learn more about the assessment tools used at Carmel Clay Schools.

ELA & Math Combined

• 1st highest proficiency rate (compared to school districts testing more than 7,000 students)
• 2nd highest proficiency rate (compared to school districts testing more than 1,000 students)
• 59.7% of CCS students tested at, or above, proficiency in ELA and Math combined
• The statewide average was 30.6%

ELA (English Language Arts)

• 1st highest proficiency rate (compared to school districts testing more than 7,000 students)
• 2nd highest proficiency rate (compared to school districts testing more than 1,000 students)
• 68.7% of CCS students tested at, or above, proficiency in ELA
• The statewide average was 40.7%

Math

• 1st highest proficiency rate (compared to school districts testing more than 7,000 students)
• 2nd highest proficiency rate (compared to school districts testing more than 1,000 students)
• 70.4% of CCS students tested at, or above, proficiency in Math
• The statewide average was 40.9%

While academic test scores provide valuable insights, and Carmel Clay Schools is proud of the achievement reflected in these results, we acknowledge and promote the importance of a well-rounded education. The district remains committed to offering a comprehensive educational experience that equips students with the necessary knowledge and Skills for Success for their continued schooling, career, and life.
