Carmel Clay Schools is pleased to announce Steven Pelych as the new Creekside Middle School principal for the 2022-2023 school year.
Mr. Pelych previously served as the principal of Cardinal Ritter High School and, most recently, Northview Middle School. He is a dedicated educator committed to academic achievement for all students and building collaborative relationships with staff. Mr. Pelych was selected as the District 7 Middle School Principal of the Year by the Indiana Association of School Principals in 2021 and 2022.
“I cannot begin to express how honored I am to be serving as the next Principal at Creekside Middle School,” said Mr. Pelych. “As a member of the Carmel Community, the continued growth and success of the Carmel Clay Schools is of utmost importance to my family and me. I understand the responsibility of school leadership and ensuring all students have access to a high-quality education that provides opportunities for academic, social, and emotional growth in a safe and nurturing environment. Being entrusted in this role is one that I do not take lightly, and I will work daily to ensure that decisions are made collaboratively and in the best interest of students. Go Wildcats!”
“We are fortunate to have Mr. Pelych join the CCS administrative team as the next principal of Creekside Middle School,” said Dr. Beresford, Superintendent of Carmel Clay Schools. “He separated himself from a talented pool of candidates as the perfect fit to lead the Wildcats now and into the future. He is a proven leader with a history of success. He has both the skill and heart to make a positive difference. He will work alongside the Creekside team to not only continue the tradition of excellence but keep working to get better!”
Mr. Pelych is a proud Carmel resident, where he lives with his wife and two children. He is a volunteer for Carmel Dad’s Club and an active Butler Bulldog Alumni serving as President of the Young Alumni Board, as well as on the Advisory Board for the Lilly Scholars Network. When he is not working or serving his community, Mr. Pelych enjoys playing golf, basketball and has recently given in to the pickleball craze!
