Hello College Wood Families,
We are so excited to be back for another year at CWE! I am Jia Cross, and I am the School Social Worker here at College Wood Elementary. I cannot express how excited I am to serve your students during the 2024-2025 school year. I can already tell that this will be an amazing school year!

Welcome back, CWE families! A few quick reminders:
If your student requires emergency medications to be kept at school, please bring those to the clinic as soon as possible. Medications need to be brought by a parent or guardian with original container/box with pharmacy label. Action Plans signed by your physician are required for asthma, severe life threatening allergies, diabetes, or seizures.
Carmel Clay Schools has a return to school policy after illness with fever greater than 100.4. Your student must be fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medication (Tylenol/acetaminophen or Motrin/ibuprofen).
All student visits to the nurse clinic will be available to view in powerschool. There will be no paper note sent home. Parents will get an email notification at the end of the school day if your student was seen by the nurse.

Picture Day is Coming on Thursday, August 22nd!
PRE-ORDERING for College Wood Picture Day is now open! To order with a debit or credit card, please follow the link below. All pre-ordering will close after Thursday, August 22, 2024. You do not need to turn in any receipt or form for an online order.
Proof ordering will be available 4-6 weeks after photo day once packages have been delivered.

Pup Running Cross Country:
Attention all 4th & 5th grade parents, we’d love to have your student join the CWE Cross Country Pup Running team! Registration will be open until August 21st at www.puprunning.org. 2024-2025 Back to School FREE T-shirt Size Request Form
In coordination with our Fall Fun Run Fundraiser, the PTO will be providing FREE custom College Wood back to school t-shirts to all students and staff. These t-shirts will be distributed to students the week of September 9th. They will be worn during the Fun Run on Friday, September 13th and can be worn throughout the year!
Please click on the link below by TOMORROW (Tuesday, August 13th) to provide your child's t-shirt size. Thank you to those of you who have already submitted the form. Please only submit one form per student. **If you do not submit the form, the child's size will be chosen for them.**
The 50/50 poly-blend shirt size options are:

Room Parents:
This popular opportunity is a great way to support your child's specific teacher. Room Parents plan and carry out two holiday parties, organize classroom teacher gifts and volunteer during the College Wood Carnival in March. Due to the high interest in this opportunity, a lottery is held to select the two room parents for each classroom. To sign up, The form below must be completed by Friday, August 23rd. All interested parents will be notified of the lottery results by Friday, August 30th.
**Everyone selected as a room parent must attend an orientation meeting on Friday, September 6th from 10am-11am, following the General PTO meeting.
