A Little Note from Nurse Katelyn:

"Hello, I am so excited to have joined the College Wood family! I'm looking forward to an amazing year getting to know the awesome students and staff. I have been in health care for 10 years, starting as an EMT and psychiatric patient care technician. I then moved into the Emergency Department as an RN--a role I still do on my off days from College Wood. I have been a substitute school nurse for 3 years, which led to my role here! I live in Carmel with my husband, two young children and our pets."

2025-2026 SCHOOL CLUBS

Looking for ways to get involved? We have several CWE clubs that will meet throughout the year. More information including registration details for each of these can be found by clicking the CWE CLUBS button below.

  • Math Pentathlon (K-5th grade) - Math Pentathlon is a competitive team, run by parent volunteers in coordination with the PTO. Students  learn to play five problem-solving and strategy board games in a social and friendly way. The year long commitment finishes with a practice tournament and a competitive tournament. Interested families should complete this form and plan to attend a Zoom meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 2 at 7:00 pm.
  • Pup Running (4th-5th grade) - Pup Running is a Carmel school-based youth running program that is committed to encouraging fitness among 4th and 5th grade students through the sport of running.  Through fall cross country and spring track seasons, Pup Running strives to develop positive character qualities in students as they train and compete in cross country and track races—qualities like: Good Health, Sportsmanship, Teamwork, Discipline, Perseverance, and Best Effort.

Registration for the fall season is open NOW until August 20th via the Pup Running website

  • Spell Bowl (4th-5th grade) Tryouts will be held in mid-September for the 2025-2026 CWE Spell Bowl Team!  Get a head start now on the 750 words! You can access the 2025 Spell Bowl word list on the IASP Spell Bowl website or HERE.

  • Cardinal Choir (4th-5th grade) - The Cardinal Choir gives students a chance to develop their singing voice and expand their musical experience outside of the general music classroom.  This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to learn and perform a varied repertoire of music. The choir meets weekly on Wednesday afternoons. Sign up information will be coming soon.
  • Student Council (4th-5th grade) - Student Council serves as a liaison between students, PTO, and building administration.  Students are elected by their peers after presenting a brief speech.  Two students from each homeroom will become representatives on council.  Student Council meets once a month to organize school events and outside charity participation. Election information will be shared with students by their classroom teachers.
  • M.A.T.H. Bowl (4th-5th grade) - M.A.T.H Bowl allows students to compete with other academic teams at the local and state level. The competition will be made up of four rounds with a maximum of five different team members competing in each round. Each round shall consist of eight multiple-choice questions, varying in difficulty.  More details can be found on the IASP M.A.T.H. Bowl website. Tryouts for the CWE club will occur during the second semester.
