Attendance Reminders

Late arrivals and absences should be reported by 8:00 am via School Dismissal Manager. This notifies both the office staff and your child's teacher.
Planned absences of two or more consecutive days should be reported at least two weeks in advance by submitting a Pre-Arranged Absence Form. This form can be obtained here or by contacting cwe_admin_assistants@ccs.k12.in.us.

Outdoor Recess Reminders

Please remember that students go outside in winter weather when temperatures and windchill are at or above 20 degrees Fahrenheit. This often means students in earlier recesses may not go out, but by mid-day, temperatures may have risen to allow later recesses to go out. Please also understand that there may be days when the temperature is appropriate but the playground conditions are not safe due to snow or ice.
All students should be dressed for cold weather in case their grade level is able to be outside.
Label coats, hats, gloves/mittens, etc. with your child's name in case they are misplaced.

Creekside Transition Information for 5th Grade Families

Creekside Middle School has created a 5^th Grade Transition Document to provide an overview of transition dates for 5^th grade parents. The document includes the logistics for each event as well as some general details about the event(s).
Please reach out to Mr. Pelych (Principal) or Miss Tubbs (Assistant Principal) with any questions you might have.

5th Grade Transition Night at Creekside

5th Grade Information Night at Creekside, January 27th 6 - 8 p
On this night, families are invited to walk a student schedule, learn more about our elective class offerings, practice opening a locker, and explore the halls of Creekside. QR codes will be posted throughout the building for you to learn more about the school, and several staff members and students will be on site for you to meet and to offer assistance.
Elective teachers will have booths with information about their classes, and our performing arts classes will have demonstrations in the auditorium at 6:30PM and 7:15PM where families can learn more about band, choir, and orchestra. No sign up is required to attend the identical demonstrations, and attendance is voluntary.

5th Grade Activity Night at Creekside

All College Wood Elementary fifth graders are invited to Creekside to talk with Creekside students and teachers, take a tour of the building, eat pizza, and cheer on the Wildcats!

Health Ed Pro Presentations

We are excited to announce that our Health Ed Pro Presentations for 4th and 5th grade students will take place on January 30th and 31st.
These presentations are designed to provide age-appropriate health education in a supportive and informative setting.
Students with opt-out forms on file will be accommodated accordingly.

Kindergarten Registration for 2025-2026

Kindergarten registration opens January 13, 2025
Early registration helps CCS schedule kindergarten screening appointments and plan for staffing needs

CALLING ALL 4^th AND 5^th GRADE MATHEMATICIANS! ... It's time for M.A.T.H. Bowl!

M.A.T.H. Bowl is a team competition that involves math problem-solving
Tryouts will take place on Monday, Feb. 3rd from 2:30-3:30 pm
Students must have an exception entered in School Dismissal Manager in order to stay for tryouts

ONLY Second - Fifth Grade invited to participate this year

Registration opens January 9th, 7pm
Login to Membership Toolkit to register
Fun Clubs begin January 21st and last for 4 weeks, through February 13th
Clubs meet on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday from 2:30-3:30 pm
Cost is $25-$35 per club
Only ONE club per student, due to popularity
Once registered for a Fun Club, parents must submit "exception" in School Dismissal Manager for each Fun Club date
