SCHOOL DISMISSAL MANAGER:

ATTENDANCE: Report absences or late arrivals prior to 8:00 am (8:40 am for late start). For pre-arranged absences of 2 days or more, please complete this absence form in addition to School Dismissal Manager. 

LEAVING EARLY: Add an exception in School Dismissal Manager and select, "Leaving Early." Indicate if your child will be returning to school or leaving for the day. Bring your picture identification into the office to sign out your child. We are unable to call students to the office prior to your arrival.

DISMISSAL: Complete any changes to your child's default dismissal no later than 1:30 pm on the date of the change. We are not able to make changes after that time.To change your child's default dismissal, please contact the office.

Our lunch menu has changed for the second semester. Please be sure to update your printed calendar at home. Resources for the cafe are also available on the CCS website, under "Parents" and "Lunch Tools."

ILEARN TESTING DATES:

Please see the updated CWE testing windows for ILEARN Checkpoints and the ILEARN Summative. More information and specific schedules for grade levels will be forthcoming.

  • Checkpoint 2 – Week of January 12
  • Checkpoint 3 – Week of March 23
  • Summative — Week of April 20 and April 27

4th & 5th GRADE HEALTH ED PRO PRESENTATIONS:

  • Health Ed Pro Presentations are coming soon:
    • January 14 at 1:00 for all 4th grade 
    • January 26 at 8:15 for 5th grade (Henderson, Lust, Manning, Schmidt) 
    • January 27at 8:15 for 5th grade (Schneider) 
  • These presentations are designed to provide age-appropriate health education in a supportive and informative setting.
  • Students with opt-out forms on file will be accommodated accordingly.

OUTDOOR RECESS REMINDERS:

Please remember that students go outside in winter weather when temperatures and windchill are at or above 20 degrees Fahrenheit. This often means students in earlier recesses may not go out, but by mid-day, temperatures may have risen to allow later recesses to go out.

All students should be dressed for cold weather in case their grade level is able to be outside. Label coats, hats, gloves/mittens, etc. with your child's name in case they are misplaced.


CALLING ALL 4TH & 5TH GRADE MATHEMATICIANS...

IT'S M.A.T.H. BOWL TIME!

  • M.A.T.H. Bowl is a team competition that involves math problem-solving.
  • Tryouts will take place on Monday, Feb. 2nd from 2:30-3:30 pm.
  • Students must have an exception entered in School Dismissal Manager in order to stay for tryouts.

5th GRADE WELCOME NIGHT AT CREEKSIDE:

  • Fifth grade students and their parents are invited to visit Creekside on Tuesday, January 27 for their Creekside Welcome Night. CWE students are scheduled from 6:00-7:00 pm.
  • On this night, families are invited to walk a student schedule, learn more about our elective class offerings, practice opening a locker, and explore the halls of Creekside.

  • QR codes will be posted throughout the building for you to learn more about the school, and several staff members and students will be on site for you to meet and to offer assistance. 

  • Elective teachers will have booths with information about their classes, and our performing arts classes will have demonstrations in the auditorium at 6:30PM and 7:15PM where families can learn more about band, choir, and orchestra.No sign up is required to attend the identical demonstrations, and attendance is voluntary. 

CREEKSIDE SCHEDULING FOR 5TH GRADERS:

  • Creekside administrators and counselors will be visiting CWE on Monday, February 2 to help students make preliminary course requests for next school year.

  • Following our visits, parents will receive detailed instructions via SchoolMessenger that explain how you can review those requests and make any changes as needed. You will have until February 20, 2026, to make changes to student requests.

  • If your child is interested in joining performing arts, you will need to sign up for an instrument fitting. Information on fittings can be found using the link below.

FUN CLUB REMINDERS:

  • Winter Fun Clubs begin January 20 and run through February 12.
  • Registrations are now closed.
  • Students who are registered must have an exception in School Dismissal Manager for each Fun Club date. Please select your child's correct club. For faster inputting, you may use the "recurring exception" feature in SDM. 
  • ESE students who will be returning to ESE after Fun Clubs should keep ESE as their dismissal option.
  • All students should be picked up in the front lobby of CWE promptly at 3:30 pm.

LOST & FOUND CLEAN OUT:

Our Lost & Found has an abundance of coats, sweatshirts, gloves, hats, water bottles and more! We will be cleaning out on Friday, January 9 and donating all unclaimed items to charity.


2026-2027 CCS KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION:

Registration for incoming kindergarteners for the 2026-2027 school year will open on Monday, January 12. Please spread the word to your neighbors, friends and family! Early registration allows CCS to prepare for staffing needs and also gives incoming kindergarteners a chance to attend upcoming kindergarten screenings.

HOLIDAY LIGHTS RECYCLING UNTIL JAN. 9:

Did you know that all parts of old or broken holiday lights can be recycled? The CWE Green Team is collecting used or broken lights for recycling from now until January 9th. There are bins in the vestibule and foyer in front of the office.
