COLLEGE WOOD CAFETERIA IS HIRING!
Are you looking to earn some extra income while your kids are at school? Would you enjoy preparing and/or serving healthy food to children? No nights, weekends or holidays! We are currently looking for a new staff member to join the College Wood Food Services Team. The Cafeteria has a 6 hour cook position open immediately. Please CLICK HERE to apply today! If you have any questions about the position, please contact Cindy Yoder email@example.com.
A MESSAGE FROM THE CAFETERIA
Beginning next week we will be limiting the number of days we serve our Salad Bar to once a week. Wednesdays will be our Salad Bar day with the hope of sales increasing to perhaps add more days. The decision was made because of low daily numbers of usage and the extra demands placed on the kitchen staff. Unfortunately, it was just not cost effective for us.
I know many of you rely heavily on this for your lunch and my apologies for any inconvenience this brings your way. Please feel free to order our Entrée Salads, which are taco salad and popcorn chicken as well as the yogurt parfait. Also, please note we will continue with the Garden Salad each day, this is the one with the Hard Boiled Egg.
Thank you all for understanding. Please send any questions or concerns you have our way.
College Wood Elementary, Cafeteria Manager
COLD WEATHER REMINDERS
As colder temperatures settle in, please be reminded to dress your students accordingly. Students continue to go outdoors for recess unless the actual temperature or wind chill factor at recess time dips to 20 degrees or colder. Coats, hats & mittens/gloves should all be clearly labeled with your child’s name.

TRICK OR TRASH RECYCLING
DID YOU KNOW??
• $2.6 billion will be spent on candy in 2019, and Americans purchase nearly 600 million pounds of candy for Halloween.
• The nature of candy wrappers (small, special type of plastic) makes them hard to recycle. Candy wrappers cannot be recycled at home!
TerraCycle and Rubicon Global have partnered together to launch a campaign to collect candy wrappers from elementary and middle schools...and keep those wrappers out of landfills!
Join College Wood Elementary in collecting candy wrappers through November 26th. We have a specially designed box in the lobby to collect wrappers. Please note, only candy wrappers can go into the “Trick or Trash” recycling box!
Congratulations to our fall Box Tops contest winner, William Corthier! William has won a $50 Target Gift Card. Keep collecting those box tops. The deadline for our next draw is February 14th, 2020.
Through our Book Fair’s profits and our All for Books donations, we were able to give 451 books to teachers and the library. THANK YOU for your support of the Book Fair! Also, a huge THANK YOU goes out to all of our incredible volunteers for volunteering your time to make our Book Fair a success. We appreciate YOU!
