Greetings CWE Families!
This week, I had the pleasure of going to each classroom to conduct the MBF Body Safety Lessons. During these presentations, we discussed the 5 Safety Rules that are important to know in the event of an emergency situation. No matter who you are, knowing the 5 Safety Rules are excellent strategies that can protect children as well as help the adults in their life keep them safe. Below, I have attached a Body Safety information sheet link that will be helpful for parents/guardians in reviewing these rules with students as well as teaching them important information that can ensure their safety. Bullying Presentations will take place September 25th - 29th in combined classrooms by grade level.
To opt out of presentations, please utilize the 2023-2024 Abuse Prevention & Safety Form in PowerSchool. If families opt-out, alternative activities will be available for their children during the presentations.

Wear your favorite College Wood shirt or red, black, and white colors.

Wear your 2023-2024 “Back to School“ shirt from the PTO!
Wednesday, 9/20 ~ Disney Day
Dress in your favorite Disney attire. *Please no props, masks, or hats.*
Thursday, 9/21 ~ Jersey Day
Sport your favorite jersey.
Friday, 9/22 ~ CARMEL DAY
Show your Greyhound Spirit with Carmel attire or blue and gold!
Thank you all SO much for your amazing support of our Fun Run Fundraiser! Our school is now 80% registered!
If you would like to donate to the PTO Fun Run Fundraiser via cash or check please send donations in with students in a sealed envelope clearly labeled “PTO Fun Run”. Checks can be made out to “CWE PTO”.

- Monday, September 18th- We have already met our first fundraising goal! Mrs. Olssen and Mrs. Bobb will be dressing as LEGO figures for the day!
- Tuesday, September 19th- As an extra incentive and kick off to our fundraising week, the PTO will be popping popcorn for the whole school!
- Thursday, September 21st- School-Wide Slumber party! Staff and students are welcome to wear PJs to school and bring in a stuffed animal! (We know this is also Carmel Homecoming Spirit Week and Jersey Day here at CWE. Students may choose their favorite attire or mix Jersey Day & PJs!)

While we enjoyed the success of the CWE Robotics team last year, we will not be offering a Robotics Club for the 2023-2024 school year, due to the lack of a teacher sponsor.
Please remember that all our College Wood students have the opportunity to explore robotics concepts and grow their STEM skills during our weekly STEM specials classes. Students in grades 3-5 also utilize VEX robotics kits throughout the year.
Get Involved with the PTO! Let us know what events or committees you are interested in by filling out our Volunteer Interest Form. This does NOT commit you to participate, but allows committee chairs to reach out to you when the time arrives to start planning.

This fun family event takes place Saturday, Oct. 21st at 9:00AM at Carmel High School. Participants can dress in costume (optional) and walk or run together to show school spirit. This event is presented by the Carmel Education Foundation, which provides scholarships and education grants to students and teachers throughout our district.
