Carmel Clay Schools Welcomes Two New Elementary Principals

Carmel Clay Schools is pleased to announce and welcome two new elementary principals, Kimberly Piper and Peter English. Mrs. Piper will lead the team at Prairie Trace Elementary, and Mr. English will take the helm at Cherry Tree Elementary. These dedicated educators are both coming from neighboring districts, however, each lives in Carmel with children who currently attend CCS. Coincidentally, both Mrs. Piper and Mr. English previously served as assistant principals in Carmel Clay Schools. We are excited to welcome them back to the CCS family.

Mrs. Piper worked for the last seven years as the Director of Elementary Education for Washington Township Schools, after serving as principal of Crooked Creek Elementary for five years. With a Master of Science in Educational Administration from Butler University and a psychology degree from the University of Notre Dame, Mrs. Piper brings her leadership and commitment to children to Prairie Trace. She sees leadership as a team effort and is dedicated to skill-building and enrichment opportunities for staff. As former Towne Meadow assistant principal, she is excited to return and looks forward to a smooth transition.  

After his first administrative position as assistant principal at Cherry Tree, Mr. English is excited to bring his career full circle. He has served the last eight years as the principal at Sand Creek Elementary in Hamilton Southeastern Schools. He obtained his Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Indiana Wesleyan University and his elementary education degree from Ball State University. As a positive and supportive leader, Mr. English looks forward to building strong relationships with the students, families, and staff at Cherry Tree.  

Mrs. Piper and Mr. English will transition into their new roles throughout the summer and be in place to usher in the new 2021-22 school year.
