Comets Celebrate One Book, One School
One School One Book

Our Clay Center Elementary Comets are going "nuts" for their One Book, One School event.

Students arrived at school Monday to see loveable critters had secretly taken over and decorated their hallways. Then, the book, 8 Class Pets + 1 Squirrel ÷ 1 Dog = Chaos was delivered in animal crates to classrooms for each student in the entire school.

Every night, families are encouraged to read the next chapter of the book together and each morning, school staff and administration share a trivia question and search for Twitch the Squirrel who is hiding somewhere new. Kids come in each morning excited to engage with friends and staff about what they read the night before and discuss what silly Twitch is up to next.

Families will celebrate the end of One Book, One School at the all-school Literacy Night with activities, games, and dinner. Events such as these are enriching opportunities to grow a love of reading and build a strong school community.

Thank you to the Clay Center PTO for purchasing books for the entire school and being the secret decorators for the event.
