Things sure look different at Cherry Tree Elementary this year! Because we are unable to be in the cafeteria for Wellness Wednesday, we are excited to announce Wellness Week! Each month we will have a fun & healthy activity to challenge students. Participating in the monthly challenges will get your student entered into a drawing for a prize!

 Let's BE WELL by COOKING in the kitchen!

Sprout's Cooking School is excited to share with us a Roasted Green Bean recipe to COOK in the kitchen! 

** Please consider age appropriate assistance & supervision by an adult **

Roasted Green Beans


2 pounds fresh green beans, washed, ends snapped off, then snap them in half if necessary
2 Tablespoons olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
2-3 garlic cloves, minced 
Juice of ½-1 lemon, taste after ½ lemon to see if you would like to add the other half
¼ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese


Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Add prepared green beans to a sheet pan. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Make sure green beans are spread out in a single layer on the sheet pan. Roast green beans at 425 for 15-20 minutes until they are slightly softened and browned, stirring halfway through.  Add garlic for last 2-3 min and cook until garlic is fragrant. When green beans are out of the oven add lemon juice. Taste for salt and lemon and add more as needed. Toss to coat evenly. Add parmesan cheese and toss one more time. Serve immediately.
