New Families

July: A link is emailed requesting volunteers for Media Center, POPS & specific PTO events throughout the year such as: Family Fun Nights, Parents & Pastries, Grand-Persons Breakfast, Book Fair, ELF workshop, Hospitality, & Teacher Appreciation Week. The lists generated are distributed to PTO general board chairs for the year so this link is really important to consider! Just remember to complete a background check before signing up!

August: Look for a Room Parent callout! 

September: The first PTO General Membership Meeting of the year. Check here for more information.

Throughout the school year: There are other PTO events that cannot run without volunteers: Family Fun Nights, Lego Club, Science Fair, Wellness Wednesdays, just to name a few! The volunteer interest form is HERE and you'll be contacted by the event chair.

January-March: We will begin filling 2021-2022 PTO board positions.  PLEASE consider, as CTE PTO needs a rotating group of volunteers to keep things fresh.

Pod- classrooms that are found “in a pod” or grouped together by grade level

Parents and Pastries- PTO sponsored breakfast with your child before school

Grand-Persons Breakfast- PTO sponsored breakfast for students and their grandparents or special relative

ESE- Extended School Enrichment- the before/after school care that is directed by the Carmel Parks Department

Cherry Tree Chatter- newsletter from CTE administration and PTO distributed by email every other Thursday

Wellness Wednesday- Once per month during lunch, thanks to the generosity of Kroger, students will have an opportunity to try a unique fruit or vegetable. Participation is voluntary, but we always invite students to try it out!

There are so many opportunities to volunteer at school with the PTO and in classrooms. Please visit the Volunteer Page of the website for more details and the background check requirements. 

Many questions, like carpool procedures, taking your child out for appointments, calling your child in sick, etc. can be answered by looking through the very detailed parent handbook created especially for Cherry Tree Elementary families.
