is your family in the PTE directory?

Make sure you are listed in the PTE Directory. This is a great way to stay in touch with classmates over the summer. All families in the directory will be moved over for the next school year. If you want to add your information, please email ptoprairietrace@gmail.com to get the form to fill out.

SUMMER BASEBALL CAMPS

Coach Neal is hosting a number of baseball camps this summer at Hartman Field.  Please help spread the word to your local friends and family as Coach continues to invest in the future of Carmel Baseball! The camp options will mirror last summer with a 4-Day Youth Summer Camp and our Position specific camps are offered 5 different weeks throughout the summer.  Click the links below for more information.

HAVE A GREAT SUMMER, HAWKS!

THANK YOU TO ALL OUR VOLUNTEERS! Thank you to everyone who helped to make this a great school year. We couldn't do what we do without you, from help in the cafeteria and media center, to leading Chat N Chew, to having a booth at the International Fair. Our school community is so great because of all the great families involved. Enjoy your summer break!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we approach the end of another enriching academic year, I am filled with gratitude to walk alongside your child’s educational journey with you!  It's been a year of growth, memorable moments and many fun times! I am immensely proud of each and every one of our students for their hard work and dedication to Prairie Trace! Thank you to all of the supportive parents, volunteers, and PTO directors for always stepping up to help out in any way possible. We could not do all of the great things at PTE without you!

As we move into the summer months, I encourage you to focus on three areas: reading, math, and quality family time! Our students need and deserve some educational consistency, and they really need and want undivided family time and attention. All of these things will contribute to the holistic development of our children.

Reading:

Reading is the gateway to knowledge, imagination, and empathy. It is through books that our children explore new worlds, expand their vocabulary, and develop critical thinking skills. I encourage you to continue fostering a love for reading at home by dedicating time each day to read with your child. Whether it's a bedtime story, a trip to the library, or simply discussing their favorite book, every moment spent reading together is an investment in your child's future. I pick out a new picture book to read to my girls each night, and it creates the best discussions and bonding time before bed. Our kids are never too old for it!

Math Facts:

Mathematics is the language of the universe, and proficiency in math facts lays the groundwork for success in higher-level mathematical concepts. I urge you to practice math facts with your child regularly, making it a fun and engaging activity rather than a chore. Utilize games, flashcards, and real-life situations to reinforce math skills and instill confidence in your child's mathematical abilities.

Family Adventures:

Quality family time is invaluable in today's fast-paced world. It provides an opportunity for bonding, creating cherished memories, and fostering strong familial connections. As we approach the summer break, I encourage you to embark on fun adventures with your family. Whether it's a nature hike, a trip to the museum, or a weekend getaway, prioritize spending time together and embracing new experiences as a family unit. I encourage our students to stay off their screens as much as possible. Take time to have the whole family unplug, so you don’t miss those special moments in each other’s lives.

Looking ahead, I would like to provide you with some important dates for the upcoming academic year:

Have a great summer!
