Dear Prairie Trace Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the new school year at Prairie Trace! We hope you had a wonderful summer and are excited for a great year on the Prairie! We had an amazing first week, and I just love seeing your kids come into school each day. I’m so lucky to lead such an amazing community of learners.

Great Start to the School Year

Our dedicated staff worked so hard to prepare for the new school year, and we were thrilled to welcome your children back to our engaging learning environments. When the students walked in on Monday in their grade level shirts, it made us so happy! We have many exciting plans and activities lined up to ensure that each student has a successful and enjoyable school year. Don’t hesitate to share any new ideas you have for our school with the PTO or me. We are always looking for other things we can incorporate into our school!

Back to School Meetings

To kick off the year, we will be holding Meet the Teacher meetings on August 20th and 21st. These meetings are a great opportunity for you to meet your child's teacher, learn about the curriculum, and understand the expectations for the year. We strongly encourage all parents to attend as your involvement and support are crucial to your child's success. These meetings are for parents only as we really want you to be able to focus on the important information.

August 20th August 21st
K 5:00 - 5:45pm 3rd 5:00 - 5:30pm

Get Involved in the PTO

We also invite you to get involved with our Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO). The PTO plays a vital role in supporting our school through fundraising, organizing events, and providing resources that enhance our students' educational experience. Your participation, whether through attending meetings, volunteering, or contributing ideas, is highly valued and makes a significant impact on our school community.  Please look for more information regarding PTO at Meet the Teacher Night and our first Parent Information Night on September 10th.

Literacy Goals for the Year

This year, we are placing a special emphasis on literacy. Our goal is to foster a love of reading and improve literacy skills across all grade levels. We will be implementing various programs and activities to support this goal. You will learn more about our new reading series, Wit and Wisdom, at Meet the Teacher Night. I encourage you to engage in reading activities at home as well. It would be very beneficial for your child to read for at least 20 minutes each evening! Together, we can help our students develop strong reading habits that will benefit them throughout their lives.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We look forward to a fantastic school year filled with learning, growth, and memorable experiences.

Love ya,

Kim Piper
Principal
