PTE Walk to school Day - Wednesday, October 4TH
The idea behind Walk to School Day is to promote health, safety and physical activity with families and friends in the school community.
We believe that International Walk to School Day will help bring the Carmel community together to help make walking a safe and enjoyable part of everyone's lives. So, get those shoes ready for walking!
In the past we have had over 300+ walkers. Let us break a record this year with the most children walking to school! Hope to see all of you out by the sidewalk area by the school track. It will be a fun morning!!

Ghosts and Goblins 5K/2K is a family event takes place Saturday, Oct. 21st at 9:00AM at Carmel High School.
Participants can dress in costume (optional) and walk or run together to show school spirit. This event is presented by the Carmel Education Foundation, which provides scholarships and education grants to students and teachers throughout our district. See you there!

Dear Hawk Parents and Guardians,
What a week! Spirit week and the Race to Prairie Trace were amazing. The students were excited to participate, and I appreciate all of your support for our school. We met our goals! Thank you to all who donated to our PTO! I’m so delighted to be part of such a wonderful learning community. I value your positive energy and dedication to your children and their education.
September 29th will be a busy day to celebrate our awesome PTE community. Mrs. Browne and I will be turning into human sundaes during our morning leadership convocation! Even though we didn’t get all 50 states, we are also going to be taking pies to the face because we collected from 13 countries too! In the evening of the 29th, please join our PTE community at the Fall Tailgate! This will take place at the back playground. It is such a special time for students to play with their friends, parents to meet one another, and truly be a part of the PTE family! We have tons of free activities and food, drinks, and snacks available for purchase. Hope to see you there!
I understand there are times that students need to be picked up early for appointments. Please make sure you bring in your driver’s license or photo ID to the office when picking up a student. Thank you in advance for assisting with our safety measures.
Walk to School Day is October 4th. This is also a late start day. These days are always fun mornings as many students and families come together on the playground prior to school. If you plan on participating, please make sure you are with your child during the walk to school, and you have a plan for dismissal. Remember that dismissal changes need to be made each day by 1:00 PM on School Dismissal Manager!
I can’t believe we are getting close to Fall Break! Remember, we have a week-long break from October 9th to 13th, so please plan accordingly. As a school, we are really working hard to have each student have 96% attendance this year which is missing less than 8 days. It is so important for our students to be in school each day!
Your commitment to ensuring that Prairie Trace remains a celebrated and successful school is awe-inspiring. It remains an honor and privilege to serve as your principal. We had a great turn out at the PTO meeting, but please know that I value feedback all throughout the year. If you ever have any ideas to continue to improve PTE, don’t hesitate to reach out. Together, I know we will continue to make this school year one of growth and achievement for all our hawks! .
