Good afternoon, Prairie Trace Families!
I hope everyone had a restful Fall Break! The kids returned refreshed and ready to go! I am excited to see what this next month has in store for our Hawks. I know our teachers are excited to share student information with you at Parent Teacher Conferences on Nov. 2nd and 3rd. Remember, the sign ups for conferences close on Oct. 23rd. We want to have 100% participation during these important conferences.
Please continue to think about your child’s attendance. This includes the importance of getting to school on time. Tardies truly impact students’ learning as instruction starts right away each day. The Indiana Department of Education just sent a report out regarding the importance of students being at school at least 96% of the year. Every minute counts, so we want to make sure your children are here for the important instruction each day!
Please take note of all of the upcoming events at Prairie Trace:

Oct. 21: Ghosts and Goblins 5K and 2K: Register and come to Carmel High School dressed in your Disney gear and walk/run with fellow Hawks!

Oct. 23-27: Red Ribbon Week - Please take note of our spirit days as we will be pledging to stay drug free!

Oct. 27: Fall Parties: Our awesome room parents will lead us in fun parties for our students from 1:00-2:00.

Oct. 31: Leadership Convocation: We will celebrate our students who have demonstrated growth mindset in their classrooms with an all school convocation! Wear those grade level shirts on this day!

Nov. 1: Late Start

Nov 2: Parent Teacher Conferences: Students come in the AM and dismiss at 11:15. PTO will be organizing a pitch in dinner for our teachers if you are interested in participating! Conferences will be from 12:00-7:00 PM.

Nov. 3: Parent Teacher Conferences: There will be no school for students on this day. Conferences will be in the AM from 7:30-11:00.

LITERATI FALL book fair
It's almost time for the Fall Book Fair (11/13-11/17)! Volunteers are needed to help set-up and tear down the book fair, help students with wish lists, bag purchases, and straighten inventory. All volunteers must have a current background check on file with CCS.

Ghosts and Goblins 5K/2K is a family event takes place Saturday, Oct. 21st at 9:00AM at Carmel High School.
Participants can dress in costume (optional) and walk or run together to show school spirit. This event is presented by the Carmel Education Foundation, which provides scholarships and education grants to students and teachers throughout our district. See you there!
