Happy Friday, Prairie Trace Families!
I hope each of you enjoyed your e-learning with your child on Wednesday. Thank you for helping them log in and complete their modules for their teachers. Hopefully, they had some time to go out and play too!
Our students have worked so hard this January on working together. We have studied having a win-win attitude and the power of being persistent and learning to compromise. Today we celebrated students in each classroom who demonstrated these leadership skills this month during an all school convocation. Our teachers and administrators have a vision for all of our students to be future leaders, so we strive to instill these qualities in our educational framework each day. We want our students to be successful through their hard work, consistent attendance, perseverance in the classroom, assistance from our staff, and working diligently each day. We expect a great deal from our students because we know they are capable of amazing things!
Caregivers, please be aware that attendance is very important for our students. I know Mrs. Browne sent a message to families last week regarding the carpool line. This is not a change from previous years or other schools - just a reminder that you can start dropping off your students as early as 7:15, so they are here and ready to go for the day. If you are here any later than 7:40, you will need to park and bring your child in. We want to ensure that students are in their seats and ready for 7:45 announcements to kick off their day.

Dear Parents:
There have been several instances of fraud throughout the school district in which parents receive fraudulent emails appearing to come from their PTO. The email directs the parents to purchase gift cards and send the card information in response to the email. Please stay vigilant when checking your email and watch for clues indicative of fraudulent or scam emails: Hover over sender email with your mouse to identify where it is really coming from, look for grammatical errors, watch for directives that use a time limit ("within 24 hours", etc) or attempt to create urgency, hover over links with your mouse to reveal the actual destination site. If you are donating money to the PTO, use caution and make sure you are dealing directly with PTO personnel.
