Dear PTE Families,
Thank you so much for a wonderful February thus far! Our students seem as though they are healthier, and our daily attendance is getting better. This makes me so happy as we know that our students need to be here with us daily. Thank you for ensuring that your child is here each day and on time!
As you saw in your email last week, masks will be optional starting on Feb. 22nd. Students will be contact traced if we learn of positive cases, per the Health Department. It will be your decision if your child wears a mask at school. If you would like them to, please reiterate this message to your child, so they know and understand your expectations. Please remember that if your child rides a bus, they must still wear a mask. It might be a good idea to put a baggy in their backpack, so they can keep it in there when they get to school if they are not going to wear one during the day. We don’t want them to get lost throughout the day.
You should have received your NWEA scores at this point. This is a great indicator of your child’s growth from the Fall to the Winter. If you have any questions about your child’s scores or achievement data, please feel free to reach out to their teacher and schedule a conference. This is a good opportunity to see what is happening at school and what you can do at home to help your child throughout the year.
We are so lucky that we have not had to have too many indoor recess days this year. However, when students are inside, we try to limit the amount of time they are on technology. As you clean out your game closets, please keep us in mind for indoor recess games. We would love gently used games (with all of the pieces) to add to our collections, so students have different options during this time. Your family might be done with it, but it could be a new favorite in a classroom!

CAFETERIA VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
help our PTE students dine safely
and comfortably!
We need parents just like you to help us in the cafeteria during lunch time. As a cafeteria helper, you will help the children find a seat, open their lunch items, get all the extras (think parmesan cheese, ketchup, napkins, and utensils!), and maintain PTE lunch room standards! ...all while getting to socialize with your kiddos and their friends. (We all love seeing your FB and Instagram selfies!)
This is a way to help out in the school, get to know all of your child's classmates, and interact with the staff at PTE.
