5TH GRADE PARENTS: IMMUNIZATION REMINDER

notes from the nurse

Please plan to make an appointment for your student's 6th grade immunizations if you have not done so already. They will need both MCV4 (Meningococcal) and Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis) prior to entering 6th grade. Exclusions would begin 20 days after school starts, so get a jump on this now!

help stock the clinic!

Our amazing school nurses are in need of new and gently used clothing items and shoes in order to fully stock the clinic. Please take a look at the items listed below and consider donating - every little bit helps! A donation bin will be placed in the front lobby; you may either drop the donation off or send the donation in with your child. Thank you so much for your ongoing support!

Happy May, PTE Families!

I can’t believe we are near the end of the school year. I’m so proud of our students, staff, and school community! We have accomplished so much.  I’m so lucky to have joined a strong group of stakeholders who recognize the importance of quality education and are committed to success. Our students have worked so hard on their leadership skills this year and truly built a positive learning climate. They have been challenged. and we have seen increased student achievement. I love working with them each and every day!

Thank you to all of the parents who volunteered their time this year. We appreciate all that you have done to help PTE events occur. If you have ever considered volunteering at school, please contact the PTO. There are events with all different time requirements, and we would love to have you involved next year.

If you are in the building in the near future, please take a look at our Lost and Found before summer break begins. We will be donating any clothing items that are left here, so please check it out if you can!

Thank you to all of those parents who completed the parent feedback survey. I always appreciate honest feedback to help make PTE an even better place for our students. I will be working all summer, so if you need anything, please do not hesitate to contact me. Also, I love getting mail, so if your child wants to send me a postcard or letter about their adventures, I will write them back! I hope they continue reading, writing, and practicing their math facts daily (or as much as they can) throughout the summer!

Enjoy your summer with your child/ren.  I will miss them - the halls will be too quiet!

Love ya,

Kim Piper

5th Grade End-of-Year Events

The deadline to submit payment for end-of-year events is today, Friday, May 13$25 if attending the end-of-year party; $15 if not attending. Cash & Checks (payable to "Prairie Trace PTO") may be sent to school with your child in an envelope marked "PTO - 5TH GRADE EVENTS"  Or you can pay online HERE.

5th Grade Graduation Ceremony

The 5th Grade Celebration is quickly approaching and the school wanted to remind parents / guardians of a number of points.

  • We CANNOT have guests arriving BEFORE 8:10 a.m. on the day of the 5th grade celebration.  We have over 400 guests which means our parking lots will be very busy.
  • The back parking lot will only be open to guests at 8:10 due to our buses arrival / departure. This is to ensure safety for all.  Due to the large volume of guests we strongly encourage car-pooling and / or walking.

We look forward to seeing you all for this wonderful event.

CAFETERIA VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

help our PTE students dine safely

and comfortably!

We need parents just like you to help us in the cafeteria during lunch time.  As a cafeteria helper, you will help the children find a seat, open their lunch items, get all the extras (think parmesan cheese, ketchup, napkins, and utensils!), and maintain PTE lunch room standards!  ...all while getting to socialize with your kiddos and their friends. (We all love seeing your FB and Instagram selfies!)
This is a way to help out in the school, get to know all of your child's classmates, and interact with the staff at PTE.

YES, I WANT TO HELP!
