Free ESE Late Start Before School Program

Late start school days happen 1-2 Wednesdays each month. On late start days, ESE offers a free before school program for all CCS elementary school students. To participate in this program, pre-registration is required.

The ESE late start before school program is offered from 7-8:20 a.m. and school breakfast is provided. The next ESE late start before school program is scheduled for Wednesday, August 24.

Registration just takes a few minutes and is free. For your child to participate in the ESE late start before school program, they must be enrolled in our EZChildTrack system prior to the beginning of the late start program day. We strongly discourage enrolling your child day-of and may not be able to accept the child into the program.

Register here!

PTO VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

General volunteers are needed to help throughout the year! Please consider volunteering to help out in the school and at PTO-sponsored events. Submit this form by August 31, 2022.

Note that all volunteers must have a criminal history background check on file & have viewed the CCS anti-bullying video

Thank you for volunteering! Email ptoprairietrace@gmail.com with questions. #PTEFamily

Yes, I want to help!

Dear PTE Families,

We had an amazing start to the school year! Thank you to everyone who attended our orientations and Gathering on the Prairie as that helped all of our students transition to the new school year easily. It was wonderful seeing our students and families on campus, and the students looked incredible on the first day in their new PTE shirts! Everyone who came to visit from the district commented that it was an awesome idea, and it was so much easier helping students get to where they need to be! Thank you to our PTO for funding this! We will definitely wear our beautiful, bright shirts more this year! I told all students to wash them and hang them in a special place in their closets, so they are ready to go for the next time!

Mark your calendars for Meet the Teacher Nights coming up in a few weeks. This night is just for parents to hear from teachers regarding curriculum and instruction for their grade level. The times for the event are as follows:

August 23

Kindergarten: 5 - 5:30 PM
First Grade: 5:35 - 6:05 PM
Second Grade: 6:10 - 6:40 PM

August 24

Third Grade: 5 - 5:30 PM
Fourth Grade: 5:35 - 6:05 PM
Fifth Grade: 6:10 - 6:40 PM

NWEA testing will be occurring soon  Students will be taking Math and Language Arts assessments during the next few weeks. Your teacher will let you know when this is occurring. These assessments will help us determine the best ways to differentiate to meet the needs for your child.

Thank you so much for your continued support and understanding of our stricter policies in the front office with guests and items to drop off for your child. There is a cart in the vestibule, so if you need to drop off forgotten items in the morning, please label them and place them there. We will then deliver them to the classrooms. This way you do not need to come into the building. Also, if you are coming into the building to pick up your child, you will need to show your driver’s license or ID as well. Thank you for understanding our newer safety measures throughout the day. Also, as a reminder for parents coming to pick up walkers/bikder, no dogs are allowed on the school grounds under any circumstances.

As you review your schedule for the week, please do not forget to update School Dismissal Manager by 1:15pm to ensure your child goes home to the right location each day.

We still have a few instructional assistant positions open if you are interested in working at PTE! If you know anyone who wants a great schedule and a fun environment, please send them our way!

Special thanks to our awesome PTO for helping us with our fabulous Back to School Events! We could not do it all without our incredible parent volunteers! You are amazing, and we appreciate you!

Please mark your calendars for the following events this month:

  • August 15-26:  NWEA testing

  • August 23:  Student Ambassador (Leadership) applications due for grades 4 and 5

    • Meet the Teacher K-2

  • August 24:  Late Start

    • Pups running registration closes

    • Meet the Teacher 3-5

  • August 29:  Student Ambassador Meeting

  • August 30:  Pups Running after school

We are ready for the best year yet!  Thanks for helping us make it happen!

Kim Piper
Principal

We’ve got spirit, yes we do! We’ve got spirit, how about you?

Don’t forget to order your PTE spirit wear before the deadline of Monday, September 5th (Labor Day). All orders will be sent home with your student via backpack mail. Be sure to get your orders in and show your PTE pride! The ordering deadline is Monday, September 5. Let's go Hawks!

CAFETERIA VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

We need parents just like you to help us in the cafeteria during lunch time.  As a cafeteria helper, you will help the children find a seat, open their lunch items, get all the extras (think parmesan cheese, ketchup, napkins, and utensils!), and maintain PTE lunch room standards!  ...all while getting to socialize with your kiddos and their friends. (We all love seeing your FB and Instagram selfies!)
This is a way to help out in the school, get to know all of your child's classmates, and interact with the staff at PTE.

YES, I WANT TO HELP!
