Dear Prairie Trace Families,

I hope this letter finds you well and that your children are settling into the rhythm of the new school year. We are now three weeks into the academic year, and I wanted to share some PTE updates with you!

First and foremost, thank you for your continued support and partnership! The start of the school year has been smooth, and it is heartwarming to see our students engaging with enthusiasm and curiosity in their classrooms and around the school. Thank you for attending the Meet the Teacher Nights to learn about the curriculum and new information this year. We value your support and recognize that we all need to work together to help your child succeed!

Our teachers and staff have been working hard to create a positive and enriching learning environment for your children. Our curriculum is in full swing, and our teachers are focused on meeting the academic needs of each student while fostering their social  and emotional growth too. Next week, Mrs. Browne and I will meet with each teacher to discuss beginning of the year assessment data and discuss differentiation strategies for the classroom.  We love investing this time together as educators to ensure we are meeting all of our students’ needs.

I’d like to highlight a few important points as we move forward in the school year:

  • Communication:  Open lines of communication between school and home are essential. If you have any questions, concerns, or ideas, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our front office, your child’s teacher, or me. We value your input and want to ensure that your child’s educational experience is a collaborative effort.

  • Safety: The health and safety of our students and staff remain paramount. We will continue to inform you as our students practice their drills and procedures at school. Officer Harris and I will be sharing safety measures at the upcoming PTO meeting on Sept. 12th at 6:00 PM. We would love to have you join us!

  • Upcoming Events: We have a number of exciting events and activities planned for the coming weeks, including Race to Prairie Trace, CCS Spirit Week, and the Annual Fall Tailgate!  Check out the calendar for all of these dates!

  • Parent Teacher Communication:  Parent teacher conferences will be held the first week of November. This is an excellent opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher, discuss their progress, and set future goals for the year. More details about scheduling will come at a later date!

Thank you once again for entrusting us with your child’s education.  Let’s continue to work together to make this school year a truly enriching and memorable experience!

Sincerely,

Kim Piper
Principal
