Colonial Days

Colonial Days

ATTENTION 5TH GRADE PARENTS! COLONIAL DAYS IS FEBRUARY 7th!

Attire:

Please plan to send your child to school that day dressed in Colonial attire, which need not be elaborate or expensive. Visit your local Goodwill store to make costume purchases. Ambitious parents may purchase patterns and sew outfits for their children. Use imagination and ingenuity! Ideas include:

Ladies – skirts, aprons, bonnets, blouses … think Little House on the Prairie and the Felicity American Girl doll. If you want to buy a bonnet or mop cap, they are available at the Connor Prairie store.

Men folk – pants tucked in knee socks, white shirts, vests, hats such as coon skin caps or tricorner black hats … think Daniel Boone or Conner Prairie townspeople.

Lunch ideas: Fried chicken, biscuits and jam, whole carrots, apples, boiled potatoes, jerky/dried meat, lemonade or water in jars. Pack lunch in a basket with a cloth or paper.
