1. Is STOPit really anonymous?
STOPit is truly anonymous. Carmel Clay Schools does not know the identity of the student submitting the report or message. At the student’s discretion, they may choose to voluntarily provide identifying information in the content of report or message.
2. How does the STOPit mobile app work?
The STOPit app can be downloaded onto any mobile device through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Once the app is downloaded, students have access to anonymously submit a report and include details through text, screenshots and videos. Reports are instantly received by assigned school administrators, SROs and the Director of Student Services who will then take appropriate actions. One benefit of the STOPit app is that it allows for two-way communication. School administrators and SROs have the ability to confirm to the student that the report has been received and ask any necessary follow-up questions.
Students can also access the Get Help icon, which gives them access to local resources such as law enforcement, mental health centers, crisis hotlines and additional resources.
The STOPit mobile app is available to students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
3. What information does a student need to provide to use STOPit?
Once the STOPit app has been downloaded, students will be required to enter their unique school code. It is important to enter the correct code that corresponds their school to ensure any anonymous report that is made is delivered to the appropriate school personnel.
4. Who receives the reports that a student submit via STOPit?
Reports are received by assigned school administrators, school resource officers and the Director of Student Services.
