In this series, we will highlight popular keyboard shortcuts in different apps, products, and websites to help improve efficiency and save valuable time. Do you have a favorite shortcut? Fill out the form so we can share your favorites!

This week, we are highlighting shortcuts in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel.

Excel and Sheets operate similarly! To use the same keyboard shortcuts in both, you will need to enable compatible shortcuts in Google Sheets.

  • Select the Help option in the menu
  • Select Keyboard shortcuts

  • In the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog box that opens, select ‘Enable compatible spreadsheet shortcuts

Spreadsheet Shortcuts

1. Select an entire row or column without moving your mouse!

To select the Entire Column, use Ctrl+Space

To select the Entire Row, use Shift+Space

2. Quickly add borders to your data set with this shortcut.

To add a border to one cell or group of cells, use Ctrl+Shift+7

3. Made an error? Undo and Redo with ease!

To undo the previous action, use Ctrl+z
