Removing Attendance for a Student
Becky Barker

We have had quite a few questions about clearing attendance for virtual students, as well as students that switched classes during the year.  Just a reminder, the school that is housing the teacher will need to clear the attendance.

Complete guide

Before beginning this process make sure you are in the Year, not Qtr
(found in the upper right corner of the start page of PS)

Search for teacher of the student

Choose Information>Current Schedule

Click on the number in the Enrollment column

From the Class Roster page, make sure Detailed View is On, filter results by Dropped

You should be able to see the dropped student.  Click on the dropped student’s name.

After choosing the dropped student’s name go to Academics>Attendance

On the attendance screen choose Show dropped classes also on the right-hand side of the screen.  Before clicking on the show dropped classes also you will notice only the current homeroom is showing.

After choosing Show dropped classes, the classes that have been dropped will show up.  It will become very apparent where there is overlapping attendance.

To clear the attendance that is overlapping choose the week you want to change.

Choosing the week at the top will take you into the actual attendance. Verify you will be removing the attendance for the appropriate class.  The teacher will be listed under Homeroom.

You can now go into the field and blank out the attendance. Make sure (Present) is chosen as the Current attendance code.  Click into the box that you want to remove the attendance from and it will clear out the current attendance.  Continue to do the same with all the dates that need to be cleared.  Submit
