Vivi offers several ways to share content, enabling a flexible and secure teaching experience. While sharing a single Chrome Tab is a great starting point, utilizing the Window option offers even greater control when a lesson requires multiple tabs or applications.
A recent Chrome update now allows for system audio to be shared when selecting a specific Window, providing a perfect balance between privacy and functionality on a Chromebook.
Why Use Window Sharing?
-
💻 Seamless Sharing: Switch between different tabs within the same window seamlessly. The class will see every tab opened in that window without needing to update the share selection.
-
🛡 Privacy: The Chromebook "shelf" (taskbar), desktop wallpaper, and any pop-up notifications remain hidden from students.Email or PowerSchool can remain open in a separate window that is not shared with the class
-
🔊 Audio Support: Sound from any tab or video within that window will play clearly through the classroom speakers.
How to Share a Window with Audio:
After joining the room, select the Share Screen icon.

In the selection box, select:
- Window (1) tab at the top.
- The specific browser window or application to display (2).
- The Share system audio switch to the On (3) position (bottom right)
